  1. This is a TECHNICAL committee. Please familiarize yourself with these antitrust and IP guidelines for IEEE meetings.
  2. Report the existence of any patent claims that might be essential to implementers of any proposed standards (Potentially Essential Patents):
    • Speak up now, or
    • Report any essential patents of which you are personally aware to the Chair, or
    • Cause a Letter of Assurance to be submitted to the IEEE-SA

  • Meeting of AIS TAG (Technical Advisory Group)
      • The AIS TAG has ended as the AIS Consortium is incorporated
      • Information about the AIS Consortium can be found on www.aisconsortium.org in December
      • The AIS Consortium now has 28 early-bird membership commitments
      • If you are interested in joining the AIS Consortium as an organization ($2500 – 50% off if paid by the end of the year) or an individual ($500) please contact Bob Sottilare at: bob.sottilare@ieee.org
      • Member benefits survey (will help us define member benefits and focus our energy on activities that will make a difference to our members)
      • TAG members can weigh in on several open questions by volunteering for committees… contact Bob Sottilare
      • Committees – AIS TAG Committees will continue as part of the AIS Consortium along with WGs on selected topics (e.g., ethics, standards education & certification)
        • Operations Committee – day to day operational activities (e.g., conference & event planning) approved by the Consortium Board of Directors (BoD)
        • Human Capital Committee — development of training & educational events… podcasts, tutorials—something similar to IEEE Young Professionals
        • Strategic Partnerships & Alliances Committee—alliances with conferences, research societies, and other organizations
        • Sponsorship Committee—identification of opportunities to earn sponsorship for shared services and benefits for the consortium & its members
        • Membership Benefits Committee — identify standard member benefits at the individual and organizational levels of membership
        • Membership Drive Committee — outreach to recruit new members
        • Technical Committee — identification of technical topics to drive the development of working groups.

  • Discussion on potential venues for outreach; the following conferences were mentioned as venues where Project 2247 members might conduct AIS-specialized sessions

    • Will be entirely virtual next year
    • If you received a AIS Conference Board invitation, please accept it and begin developing your session in the HCII CMS.

    • We now have 20 sessions, potential decision to merge sessions will be made in early January
    • If you chair a session, you get a HCII tutorial registration for free… if you chair two sessions, you the tutorial and conference registration free.

    • Conceptual Modeling Subgroup Chair—Anne Knowles, Tipping Point Solutions
        • Three steps to be completed simultaneously:
          • (1) Inform the LTSC that the WG has approved a recommendation to go to ballot and is seeking the approval from the LTSC
            • Completed. Richard has the submitted version of our draft standard document.
          • (2) Submit draft to MEC (Mandatory Editorial Coordination)—this process takes 30 days
            • Completed.
            • Vanessa LaLittle is our Program Manager
            • Received feedback. Need to review and implement before Ballot Group can vote.
          • (3) WG should initiate the SA Ballot Invitation process—this takes 30 days
            • Completed.
