{"id":2,"date":"2015-11-15T04:02:58","date_gmt":"2015-11-15T04:02:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.ieee.org\/sagroups-template\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2023-01-16T13:08:44","modified_gmt":"2023-01-16T13:08:44","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sagroups.ieee.org\/7030\/","title":{"rendered":"IEEE P7030 &#8211; Global XR Ethics Working Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Title: <\/b>Recommended Practice for Ethical Assessment of Extended Reality (XR) Technologies<\/p>\r\n<p><b>Scope: <\/b>This standard establishes a uniform set of definitions, and a methodology to assess the socio-technical considerations and practices regarding (\u201cXR\u201d) Extended Reality (Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Immersive Web and Spatial Web technologies) where this methodology shapes the positive design of XR systems.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Standard provides the following:<br \/>a) a high-level overview of the technical and socio-technical aspects of XR;<br \/>b) a set of XR definitions and classifications based on existing XR research and application verticals;<br \/>c) a standardized definition of ethical assessment methodologies of XR products, services and systems; and,<br \/>d) a high-level ethical (where &#8220;ethical&#8221; is defined as &#8220;Supporting the realization of positive values or the reduction of negative values&#8221;) assessment methodology for the design of XR products, services, or systems.
