Joining the Working Group

Thank you for your interest in the IEEE AI Ethics Oversight Working Group (which encompasses IEEE P7999™, P7999.1™, and P7999.2™). A public email reflector has been established to provide public announcements about the Working Group (WG). These announcements include teleconference information, meeting agendas, and minutes.

To subscribe to the Public Email Reflector, please send an email to [email protected], containing only the following text in the body of the message: subscribe STDS-P7999-series YourName

For example, a subscription email for the AI Ethics Oversight WG Email Reflector from John Smith Doe would have the following in the email’s body: subscribe STDS-P7999-series John Smith Doe.

Subscription note 1: Use of the e-mail subscribe instruction requires that you supply your First Name followed by your Last Name, and will subscribe using the e-mail address from which the e-mail is sourced. The e-mail subscribe instruction does not support an e-mail address field. If you try to use an e-mail address in the field reserved for Names, it will be rejected. If you wish to subscribe using an e-mail address other than the one which your e-mail is sourced from (for example, the IEEE e-mail alias [email protected]), you will need to use the ListServ web interface (https://listserv.ieee.org/). Use of this web interface will require the creation of a login, but this login can be used for all IEEE ListServ subscriptions you wish to manage.

Subscription note 2: The field reserved for Names can include complex Latin characters (e.g., ä, ć, ñ) and spacers (e.g., apostrophes, hyphens). Please ensure that the name you provide in the “Name” field is the same as the name you use during attendance at WG meetings.

Subscription note 3: Please note that the e-mail reflector is only for non-commercial communications essential to the completion of the WG’s projects. Only reflector administrators (such as the Program Manager assigned to the group) can access and modify the information added to it. The administrators and/or the WG Chair may take action to ensure that only pertinent communications are sent using the Public Email Reflector.
