Dr. Andreas Christ was born in Offenbach, Germany, in 1968. He received the Dipl.Ing. degree in electrical engineering in 1996 from the Technical University Darmstadt, Germany, and received his Ph.D. in 2003 from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zürich, Switzerland, and continued as a researcher with Foundation for Research on Information Technologies in Society, Zürich. Since 2012, he has been working as a research consultant based in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Dr Christ has been a leading and well respected expert in the assessment of interaction mechanisms of electromagnetic fields and biological tissue. He has authored and coauthored more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals and presented his studies in more than 30 international conferences. His research interests include computational electrodynamics with the finite-difference time-domain method, the development of anatomical models for dosimetric simulations, the numerical modeling of medical devices. Dr. Christ is a member of IEC TC 106 and of the IEEE/ICES TC34, where he chairs and co-chairs the development of several computational standards on the compliance assessment of wireless devices. With this appointment, Dr. Andreas Christ also becomes a member of the IEEE/ICES AdCom.
