ICICLE Participants,

The ICICLE monthly community call is tomorrow July 22nd at 12 pm ET.  We’ll be meeting via Webex (See details below with meeting code and password). The call is scheduled for one hour’s length.  Full agenda will be posted here.

Several events are happening in July and August that have learning engineering sessions and themes.  Presentations on Adaptive Instructional Systems and Learning Engineering are being held this week July 19th-24th at the HCI International 2020 Conference.  Schmidt Futures is hosting the Futures Forum on Learning conference July 20th-21st discussing learning engineering.

The IEEE Learning Technology Standards Committee led a workshop, “Empowering Education with AI Technologies” at the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education on July 6th. The proceedings of the conference are available free until August 3rd.

The iFest 2020 conference August 17th-19th has several Learning Engineering events including an Learning Engineering Panel, live and per-recorded video presentations, Learning Engineering Chat Room and poster.

The Learning at Scale 2020 Conference August 12th-14th has workshops on and applying Learning Engineering on August 12th.

The Design SIG is developing an ICICLE Strong Person to explore the design of a learning engineering process.  The SIG will be reaching out to the larger ICICLE community to elicit feedback and discussion.  The next meeting is Tuesday, July 28th at 2 pm ET.  The meeting link is in the Agenda and Meeting Notes.

The Corporate MIG (market interest group) has a series of corporate L&D interviews on applying Learning Engineering to enhance L&D and performance in the corporate context.  The next meeting is Friday, July 31st at 11 AM ET.  Brandt Dargue, Sr. Learning Engineer at Boeing, will be sharing his experience. The Tools SIG will be preparing a series of briefs, starting with what  instrumentation is and how to do it.  The next meeting is Thursday, July 23rd at 2 pm ET.  The meeting link is in the Agenda and Meeting Notes.
