We are thrilled to have\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ieee-ltsc.us10.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=948d4b5b4607a1ed56c930766&amp;id=6b16726dae&amp;e=6a6ec61b64\" target=\"_blank\">Danielle McNamara<\/a>, Professor in the Department of Psychology and Executive Director of the Learning Engineering Institute at\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ieee-ltsc.us10.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=948d4b5b4607a1ed56c930766&amp;id=a2c7a86b16&amp;e=6a6ec61b64\" target=\"_blank\">Arizona State University<\/a>, join the call.\u00a0She is an expert in the fields of cognitive and learning sciences, comprehension, writing, natural language processing (NLP), intelligent tutoring, and artificial intelligence in education. The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ieee-ltsc.us10.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=948d4b5b4607a1ed56c930766&amp;id=9db52408fa&amp;e=6a6ec61b64\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Galway<\/a>&nbsp;has established a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ieee-ltsc.us10.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=948d4b5b4607a1ed56c930766&amp;id=97248d060c&amp;e=6a6ec61b64\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Learning Engineering Research Group<\/a>. They are bringing together researchers from the cognitive, social, educational, and computational sciences. The group combines industry-inspired practices with digital technologies and computing to create engaging learning experiences, understand human learning and knowledge transfer to facilitate behavioural change in a variety of contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ieee-ltsc.us10.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=948d4b5b4607a1ed56c930766&amp;id=7e9cfa8583&amp;e=6a6ec61b64\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Duolingo<\/a>&nbsp;has long applied learning engineering processes in developing its learning experiences.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ieee-ltsc.us10.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=948d4b5b4607a1ed56c930766&amp;id=516d2911bc&amp;e=6a6ec61b64\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Eric Basu<\/a>&nbsp;in his article,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ieee-ltsc.us10.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=948d4b5b4607a1ed56c930766&amp;id=1e6c24d88e&amp;e=6a6ec61b64\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How Video Games Can Train You for a Job: Lessons from Learning Engineering Research and Duolingo&#8217;s Success<\/a>, describes how learning engineering research, platforms like Duolingo, and expert insights can inform the design of effective learning experiences.
