ICICLE November 2024\u00a0Community Call: Will Thalheimer, Consultant, Speaker, Researcher on Learning-Evaluation at Work-Learning Research<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The ICICLE monthly community call is November 20th at 12pm ET. We are excited that\u00a0Will Thalheimer\u00a0is our guest speaker. Will is one of the leading innovators in workplace learning evaluation. He created a distinctive questioning approach outlined in his book,\u00a0Performance-Focused Learner Surveys: Using Distinctive Questioning to Get Actionable Data and Guide Learning Effectiveness<\/a>, an evaluation framework that brings learning wisdom back into the learning-evaluation process,\u00a0LTEM<\/a>\u00a0(the Learning Transfer Evaluation Model), and a new evaluation approach called\u00a0LEADS\u00a0(Learning Evaluation As Decision Support) described in his new book,\u00a0The CEO\u2019s Guide to Training, eLearning & Work: Empowering Learning for a Competitive Advantage<\/a>. He\u2019ll share with us a number of ideas about learning evaluation, data for decision-making, and impact, discussing their importance and relevance to learning engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Invitation to Learning Engineering<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the IEEE Learning Engineering community (ICICLE) are facilitating an event on how you can get engaged with Learning Engineering (LE) on Wednesday 11 December at 1pmET\/10amPT. This session will provide an overview of Learning Engineering, share a use case on the application of Learning Engineering, discuss that use case from a variety of perspectives, and open the floor to participants to pose questions and discuss all things LE. This session will highlight a use case from\u00a0Carnegie Learning<\/a>\u00a0and will feature\u00a0Steve Ritter<\/a>, Carnegie Learning\u2019s Founder and Chief Scientist. Learning and Talking about Learning Engineering\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Learning Engineering Applies the Learning Sciences” chapter<\/a> in the Learning Engineering Toolkit<\/a> is now available as an open access. Read the chapter for free to learn more about how learning engineering applies the learning sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
