ICICLE\u00a0Update and\u00a0November\u00a02025 Community Call with Robert Laurie, Director, Publisher and Platform Partnerships, Benetech, Software for Social Good<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0ICICLE\u00a0monthly community call is\u00a0November\u00a019th at 12pm ET. We’re thrilled to have as our guest speaker\u00a0Robert Laurie<\/a>, Director, Publisher and Platform Partnerships for\u00a0Benetech<\/a>.\u00a0Benetech<\/a>\u00a0creates software for social good in the areas of education, employment, and social inclusion. They provide learning materials and support to students with learning disabilities\u00a0in low- and middle-income countries and\u00a0underserved communities and develop\u00a0inclusive technology to\u00a0empower these\u00a0learners to access knowledge. Robert will be sharing with the community their work around creating\u00a0pathways to educational equity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll be meeting via\u00a0Webex<\/a>\u00a0for the community call. (See details below with meeting code and password.) It is scheduled for one hour’s length. Full agenda will be posted\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Talking about Learning Engineering<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Learning Engineering Research Network<\/a> (LERN) Convening<\/a>, hosted by the ASU Learning Engineering Institute<\/a>, is accepting proposals for papers and poster<\/a> for the “From Insights to Implementation: Learning Engineering in Action<\/a>” convening, Feb. 3\u20134, 2026. in Tempe, Arizona, USA  The convening will showcase the latest advances in AI, design, and education research, and will feature keynotes, panels, and research presentations. Submissions<\/a> are welcome across disciplines: proposal guidelines<\/a> and proposal submission form<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Learning Engineering Networking Event<\/a> happens the first Wednesday of the month at 1:00pm ET. Share your work, get feedback on your ideas, and meet others who care about data- and research-driven improvements in learning technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special Interest Groups and Market Interest Groups<\/a> is where much of the work in ICICLE happens. The groups develop resources and document experiences for the learning engineering community. Participate in one, two or all of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
