1. Call to order
attendees:
Leland Pierce
Wade Schwartzkopf
Marc Trachy
Chuck Heazel

we have a quorum

===================================
2. Approval of agenda
===================================
Marc moved, Wade seconded, no discussion, no opposition
approved.

===================================
3. Approval of minutes of previous meeting
===================================
Marc moved, Wade seconded, no discussion, no opposition
approved.

===================================
4. IEEE Patent and Copyright Policy
===================================
1. slides 1-4 were shown and discussed by the chair
2. Chair provided an opportunity for participants to identify patent
claim(s)/patent application claim(s) and/or the holder of patent
claim(s)/patent application claim(s) of which the participant is
personally aware and that may be essential for the use of that
standard.

Wade said he would look into what the status was of the NGA copyright transfer process for SICD.

===================================
5. Discussion of current draft standard
===================================

Chuck Heazel presented his version of a possible XML encoding of the discovery metadata from the example SICD metadata that Wade sent last time.

Here is a link to that document.

Here is the discussion about it:

first 2: metadata about the metadata

SCP: GCP’s, including grid coords, but not very precise
extent instead is possible, Chuck will try.

Physical Sensor Model/Region of validity: grid coords

Orientation of sensor relative to platform,
Orientation of platform relative to Earth:
this is assumed in SICD, so does not appear there
probably should code these

Impulse response params.. .fine

Collect start/end: fine

content info: polarization codes: Wade likes the new way

range element description: using SICD codes currently
needs more work

19123: includes: raw pixels + metadata + range-el-desc + main-data
we have all of that, so we could populate a 19123 std document.

there is an iso standard for how to extend a standard.
maybe we should look into this.

data quality: incl. lineage: data creation: empty for now
19157: quality: could use this for SICD errors
possibly useful for error-propagation
discovery or exploitation?
both works, but sometimes the source does not include it.

platform vs. sensor…OK

collection info: can have multiple instruments
how to distinguish xmit and rcv with multiple instruments?
need an explicit identifier. perhaps use “type”

scpcoa not here? a single point

there was some feeling that this was very verbose, and that was bad.

we need to identify anything missing or wrong. send an email to the list.

error params: perhaps include a flag:
“this is a guess”
“this is modeled”
“this is from measurements”
etc
would be an improvement on SICD
include cov matrices, error ellipse, etc.

6. Other business?
