  5. IEEE SA Patent & Copyright Policies; Participant Behavior
Patent and copyright slides were shown and discussed by the chair. Chair provided an opportunity for participants to identify patent claim(s)/patent application claim(s) and/or the holder of patent claim(s)/patent application claim(s) of which the participant is personally aware and that may be essential for the use of that standard.
    No discussion.
  6. Draft update
Reviewed proposed outline to enumerate all of the required sections and which ones were complete, undone, or partially done.
The question was put forth whether we wanted the standard to accommodate custom parameters. Conclusion was that providers could add custom metadata, but it would be outside of the IEEE-defined JSON. Since the IEEE standard does not define encoding, this could allow for a new HDF5/GEOTIFF/NITF field for those sorts of sensor-specific information.
  7. Open GITHUB issues
Discuss the proposal to restrict datasets to uniform weighting. Consensus in the group seemed to be that uniform weighting is generally preferable, but given the light attendance, group deferred making a decision until further input can be provided.
Image chipping in issue #8 was closed out as resolved.
Pros and cons of the polynomials versus state vectors was discussed. State vectors have many benefits, but require much more documentation and edits to the original SICD source standard that this standard is deriving from. Moving to state vectors would require a technical proposal with specification for how to interpolate between them. The group entertains such proposals, but if that is not brought forth will have to stick with polynomials.
There was further discussion on the output grid field and whether it should be required/optional.
  8. Unfinished Business/Action Item Review
    None discussed.
  9. New Business
    None discussed.
