Standards Plans Recruitment of IEEE Computer Society Smart Manufacturing Standards Committee (2020-07-22)

The IEEE Computer Society Smart Manufacturing Standards Committee (referred to as: IEEE/C/SM) officially launches the committee’s recruitment process. IEEE/C/SM was established on September 5th, 2019 to promote the standardization of smart manufacturing technology and its application practices. In order to accelerate the advancement of international standards in the field of intelligent manufacturing, better serve the development of intelligent manufacturing, and help build a new format for the manufacturing industry, IEEE/C/SM is now conducting a solicitation of the “Standards Plans Recruitment Notice of IEEE/C/SM”. The specific notices are as follows:

Requirements

Standard topic selection should be closely integrated with the urgent needs of the development of international smart manufacturing, and give full play to the advantages of domestic and foreign standards systems, and take into account the foresight and practicality, includes but is not limited to basic common standards of smart manufacturing, smart equipment standards, smart factory standards, smart service standards, smart enabling technology standards, industrial internet standards, and application standards for various industries of manufacturing.

The sponsor of the “Entity” standard should be a senior entity member of IEEE-SA, with the technical foundation and research capabilities related to the declared standard, including technology, personnel, and equipment. The sponsor of the “Individual” standard should be an individual member of IEEE SA, and the sponsor should have a high level of professional technology and rich practical experience in the field of intelligent manufacturing, as well as strong organizational coordination and communication skills.

Procedure

Please fill out the PAR and the standard proposal (annex) and send it to the following contacts before August 20, 2020. The standard proposal includes but is not limited to the standard background, scope, purpose, urgency, main technical content, and relationship with existing standards (if any).

IEEE/C/SM regularly conducts the review of the standard plan, and the results will be fed back to the email address of the standard plan contacts. The approved project can then carry out the follow-up proposal application.
