Welcome to the IEEE 1722 Working Group
Purpose
The IEEE 1722 working group defines formats and synchronization mechanisms for transporting media and control data over Ethernet-based time-sensitive networks. The group is chartered by the IEEE Microprocessor Standards Committee and uses the IEEE standards process in the production of its standards.
Group Communications
In addition to this webpage, the IEEE 1722 working group uses the AVB Transport Protocol (AVBTP) email reflector for communications. To join (or leave) the AVBTP reflector, please see these instructions.
Collaborations
The IEEE 1722 working group collaborates closely with the IEEE 1722.1 working group. The IEEE P1722.1 Working Group is defining an upper layer Discovery, Enumeration, Connection and Control standard for devices using IEEE 1722 streams to communicate over time-sensitive Ethernet networks. For questions on the IEEE P1722.1 Working Group, contact the Working Group Chair, Richard Bugg.
Documents
The latest version of the IEEE 1722 standard is IEEE 1722-2016.
The IEEE 1722 working group maintains all of the public contributions for past and future versions of the 1722 specification. The working group also maintains a private area for interim drafts, discussion and status of work that is currently in progress. Access to the private area requires login credentials.
We also maintain meeting minutes for all of our meetings.
Group Operation and Organization
The IEEE 1722 working group abides by the IEEE SA Policies and Procedures. In particular, it uses the IEEE SA Patent Policy regarding handling of intellectual property for all discussion and contributions. The IEEE 1722 working group has its own Policy and Procedures document governing its organization and operation.
