P1722.1 Working Group
Standard for Device Discovery, Connection Management, and Control Protocol for Time-Sensitive Networking System

About

IEEE P1722.1 working group develops the standard that facilitates interoperability between systems that stream time-sensitive media and data across local area networks which provide time synchronization and latency/bandwidth services. The standard specifies the protocol, device discovery, connection management, and device control procedures used to facilitate interoperability between systems that use IEEE 802 time sensitive networking standards.

The current version of IEEE P1722.1 is 1722.1-2021, which was published March 30, 2022. Currently, the working group is working on a corrigendum to 1722.1-2021. See below for details.

For questions regarding the P1722.1 working group, please contact the working group chair, Richard Bugg.

The primary forum for working group communication is the e-mail reflector. Instructions for joining the reflector are here.

ATDECC is formerly known as AVDECC (Audio Video Discovery, Enumeration, Connection management and Control). The working group decided to change the name to be more inclusive of other applications beyond audio and video.

The policies and procedures for the working group can be found here.

Current Project

The working group is currently completing a corrigendum to 1722.1-2021 to further facilitate interoperability between systems that stream time-sensitive media and data across local area networks which provide time synchronization and latency/bandwidth services.

E-Mail Reflector

The AVBTP-DECC list server distributes emails to the P1722.1 working group participants. The ability to post messages to the reflector is limited to list subscribers.

There are 2 ways to manage your subscription to the mailing list, either via the email instructions below or by accessing the listserve page.

Accessing the reflector

The mailing list admin should be contacted for any issues or to report problems.
