Scope:
This standard defines an architecture framework for a computational operation system, which is designed to enable intelligent cities. This common architecture consists of a unified networking layer, a data management layer, a gateway module to protect data privacy while enabling cross-institutional modeling, an open AI algorithm layer, an account management system and a specially designed spatio-temporal data management system.
Purpose:
By defining such a common architecture, this standard ensures interoperability of intelligent city infrastructure built by different providers, defines a process of acquisition, integration, and analysis of big and heterogeneous data generated by a diversity of sources in urban spaces, provides a reference framework to integrate and connect unobtrusive and ubiquitous sensing technologies, advanced data management and analytics models, and novel visualization methods, allowing data and algorithmic output to be passed from one system to another, and empowering cities to leverage the capabilities of different providers.
Membership:
Membership is entity based and an individual cannot become a member. Membership requires IEEE-SA Advanced Corporate Membership to become a member. For further information on IEEE Corporate membership and dues please go here.
