IEEE SBLC P825 Working Group
NOTES:
Call had (5) attendees – some preliminary background and introduction was made by individual participants.
W. Ash from IEEE Standards reviewed the Standards formation process and described the general approach taken to producing the Guide (our primary deliverable focus). Some discussion on potential work breakdown structures to start focus areas.
W. Ash from IEEE Standards reviewed the current Blockchain focus areas underway within IEEE (Pharma and IoT) and indicated that a new group is being considered for Energy. P. Heitmann emphasized that this focus area would proceed adjacent to our effort but we would “tightly coordinate” the findings and incorporate into our Guide deliverable.
P. Heitmann identified a new member who is joining the workgroup and who has provided a current compendium of Energy Blockchain abstracts on work being done in China. This will be added to the website repository.
Discussion had on next step of developing the P825 Guide outline – after which there will be a more defined project timeline and deliverable sequences. It is hoped that the website can facilitate much of the needed collaborative development.
Calls will be held more frequently (with biweekly target) but shift time of day scheduling to allow most participation within any given month.
