5. Discussion of current draft standard

Talked about how to convert SICD to ISO, in particular the “discovery”
part.
Basic process was:
1. to search SICD in order to fillin the mandatory ISO elements
2. used optional ISO elements where there were similar SICD mandatory
elements
One issue that was noticed was that the “associated data” in ISO is
not generally availabale when creating a product at the processing
facility.
only later, when cataloging, is such info. available.
SICD was designed to provide only the metadata available when creating
a product at the processing facility.
For example, if a DEM was used in processing, should that be made
available as part of the SAR data? or a reference to it? or?
Needs further discussion.
Wade then sent an example SICD XML file to everyone in order to
encourage people to convert a part of it to the ISO equivalent.
