4. IEEE Patent Policy
===================================
1. slides 1-4 were shown and discussed by the chair
2. Chair provided an opportunity for participants to identify patent
claim(s)/patent application claim(s) and/or the holder of patent
claim(s)/patent application claim(s) of which the participant is
personally aware and that may be essential for the use of that
standard.

5. Overview of SICD std and related SAR stds, contin
===================================
presented more info on correspondence between SICD and ISO.
Many holes in ISO
idea of using gml
radar collection: time-independent params
image formation: time-dependent params
General agreement that we should use ISO for the “discovery” and
overview type of metadata, but pursue using SICD for the rest.
Need to re-format SICD to be ISO-like: Leland volunteered to give an
example of this for next time.
Bob said he thought that the current SICD collection-info was
problematic, and needed re-thinking.
Bob also said he thought the current pixel grid info was useful.
Then there was discussion about parameters whose values varied across
the image.
Some newer sensors are just supplying this as another “image”, with
values in a 2D array that overlays the image data,
others supply a polynomial,
others supply a grid, but a subsampled version of the image grid.
what do we want to do?
Bob and Marc mentioned that they have some ideas for improving SICD,
and they would like to share these ideas with the group.
