Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Standards Committee

IEEE C/BDL/NES

New Energy Storage (NES) Subcommittee

1. Scope

The scope of this Subcommittee covers the international standard development, collaborative research, and application promotion of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies in the field of new energy storage. Specific areas include distributed energy, quantum technology, 6G,virtual power plants, microgrids, new energy storage system integration, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) interaction within the new energy storage domain, as well as core technical directions such as blockchain underlying protocols, consensus mechanism design, smart contract development, and security verification. The Subcommittee is committed to developing IEEE international standards, technical reports, white papers, reference implementation schemes, and certification frameworks, providing technical support and standardization services for global power enterprises, energy companies, technology providers, and research institutions.

2. Purpose

The IEEE C/BDL New Energy Storage Subcommittee aims to advance the international standardization of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies in the field of new energy storage. It seeks to promote innovative research and large-scale applications of these technologies within energy systems, foster collaborative cooperation among global power enterprises, universities, research institutions, and industry stakeholders, accelerate the international transformation of technological achievements, support the global clean energy transition, and contribute to the realization of the “dual carbon” strategic goals.
