LTSC Frontier Report (Volume 1) – Empowering Education with AI and Standards

The organizers of the recent 2020 AIED Workshop on Empowering Education with AI Technology are publishing the workshop content in a proceedings volume. Furthermore, since the adoption of AI in education and training is expanding rapidly, there are plans to make the Workshop on Advanced Learning Technology, and its associated proceedings, into an annual production.

We have a working title for the book: LTSC Frontier Report (Volume 1) – Empowering Education with AI and Standards. And we are inviting speakers at the workshop to contribute to this book based on their sharing at the workshop back in July. (Potential writers will receive an email invitation.)

The book will include short reviews of research advances, technology trends, and summaries of the 2020 AIED Workshop panel discussions. Contributions will nominally be 2,500–5,000 words but longer contributions, including relevant research papers, are welcome.  The chapter title can be what you talked about at the Workshop in July or an alternate chapter title that is related to the workshop theme.

Some important dates and deadlines:

  • Please respond to the email invitation that you received no later than October 7th (Wednesday), 2020
  • Please submit a 200 word abstract (including title and authorship) of your book chapter by October 10 (Saturday), 2020. *Chapter templates will be sent out after your abstract is accepted.
  • The final draft of your contribution will be due December 19th, 2020

Some helpful materials to the book writing:

  • Transcripts of the workshop keynotes and panel discussions are available here. These are restricted materials to book contributors only and you need to request access.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jody Cockroft ([email protected]).

Again, we greatly appreciate all of your time and hard work on this project!
