This Compendium has been created by committees of The IEEE Planet Positive 2030 Initiative composed of more than two hundred participants from six continents, who are thought leaders from academia, industry, civil society, policy and government. The document’s purpose is to identify specific issues and recommendations regarding sustainability and climate change challenges to achieve “Planet Positivity” by 2030.

Working with various partners and Communities, we are creating a set of metrics and methodologies designed to support the implementation of Strong Sustainability by Design principles and recommendations as pragmatic and impactful action.

The Communities Committee as part of IEEE Planet Positive 2030 is designed as an Incubator/Accelerator Program to provide an opportunity for long-term growth between participating Communities and local academic, business, and policy experts along with local citizens and IEEE volunteer experts.

All our work is designed to inspire the creation of technical solutions that can be developed into technical standards by the IEEE Standards Association (for example ICT and power & energy related standards) as part of the IEEE P7800™ series, IEEE 3469™, IEEE 7100™, and associated standardization and certification programs.
