ICICLE October 2020 Community Call with Rachel Van Campenhout, Learning Science Specialist, Vital Source

The ICICLE monthly community call is October 21st at 12 pm ET.  We’re excited to have Rachel Van Campenhout, Learning Science Specialist at Vital Source join us to share a case study on how learning engineering guides improvement of adaptive activities.  Join us and hear an example of a learning engineering design process.

Learning Engineering Connections
In a guest interviewAdam Blacktalks with David Porcaro of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative about “Why investing in learning science for your edtech makes good business sense.” Jodi Lis was invited by IDIODC to speak on How a Learning Engineer Scales Up Learning Technologies (IDIODC: Instructional Designers in Offices Drinking Coffee). Jessie Chuang spoke on AI + Human: A Total Reimagination of Learning and Work at the Digital Workspace Experience. Check out the proceedings from the 2019 ICICLE Conference on Learning Engineering if you haven’t yet and share with your networks and colleagues!

SIGs
The Design SIG is working on building examples and extensions of ICICLE’s Learning Engineering Process Model. The SIG meets the 4th Tuesday of the month at 2 pm ET. The next meeting is Tuesday, October 27th. The meeting link is in the Agenda and Meeting Notes.

The Corporate MIG (market interest group) is also gathering examples and models and connecting people through a Learning Engineering for Personalized Learning At Scale campaign. If you have a case study and idea, please share it here.  On Friday, October 30th meeting a learning engineering case study from a Fortune 500 company will be shared by a senior learning engineer. Please contact Jessie Chuang for more information and meeting details.
