The ICICLE monthly community call is July 21st at 12pm ET. In last month’s ICICLE Community Call, you were our guest speakers. It was a great discussion. We want to continue to hear from each of you on how you are engaged in learning engineering.

Learning Engineering Updates
Interested in learning more about learning engineering? Carnegie Mellon University‘s Learn Lab is offering certificate courses on learning engineering to industry professionals in instructional design, learning science, and data science.
Are you working a learning engineering tool? The Learning Engineering Tools Competition 2021, sponsored by Futures Forum on Learning, is supporting new tools that will improve student learning and advance the field of learning engineering. Proposal concepts are due 1st September 2021.
ICICLE members are engaged with several conferences this summer. The International Conference on Mobile, Hybrid, and On-line Learning happening this week, 18th-22nd July 2021, has a track on Learning Engineering: Courseware Instrumentation and Learning Analytics. The International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction, 24th-29th July 2021, will have sessions on Learning Engineering as an Ethical Framework and a Learning Engineering Bootcamp. At iFest, 31st August – 2nd September 2021, a session, Start Making Sense: Integrating Learning Engineering into a Team, and a poster, Learning Engineering as the New Normal, will be part of the conference.

SIGs
SIGs meet monthly. We welcome everyone’s participation in the SIGs. It’s been great to see new faces at recent SIG meetings!
The Competencies, Curriculum, and Credentials SIG is working on ICICLE’s commitment to the Data Science for Everyone‘s campaign, to define data science competencies in a learning engineering competency framework by the end of 2021. We’d love your ideas and help. The next meeting is scheduled on Friday, August 13th at 3pm ET. Meeting link is in SIG notes.
The Design SIG is meeting Tuesday, July 27th at 2pm ET. Meeting link is in the Agenda and Meeting Notes.
