The ICICLE monthly community call is June 21st at 12pm ETErin Czerwinski, Manager, Learning Engineering and Technology-Enhanced Product, at Carnegie Mellon University and Co-Chair of the 2023 ICICLE Learning Engineering Conference, will be sharing activities, events, speakers and all that will be happening at the conference. Join the community call to get a sneak preview!

We’ll be meeting via Webex for the community call. (See details below with meeting code and password.) It is scheduled for one hour’s length. Full agenda will be posted here.

2023 ICICLE Learning Engineering Conference, 24th-26th July

The  2023 ICICLE Conference on Learning Engineering: Grounding Theory in Practice is a little over a month away. If you haven’t registered, why not? The number of participants at the conference is limited, and it is filling up. Join other learning engineering enthusiasts 24th-26th July 2023 in-person at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA to explore the practice, process and profession of learning engineering.

The tentative agenda has been updated on the conference page. We have diverse selection of sessions across sectors (pK-12, higher education, professional learning and development), concepts in learning sciences and learning design, teaching learning engineering,  implementation and much more. We are excited to have Steve Ritter, Tammy Berman, and Ken Koedinger, our three fantastic keynotes, speak about their learning engineering experiences.

The contest to win a free registration to the 2023 ICICLE Learning Engineering Conference is still open! We want to know, “What Does Learning Engineering Mean to You?” Record a video, create a graphic, do anything creative and fun that describes you and learning engineering. Keep it simple, short, engaging, and topical. Use the hashtag #ICICLE and #learningengineering. We’ll be monitoring Twitter (also post with @ieeeicicle) and LinkedIn (put on Learning Engineering group if you’d like). The contest winner will receive free registration!

Total Learning Architecture Plugfest, 27th July

The ADL Initiative will be hosting a free, one-day workshop on the Total Learning Architecture (TLA) at Carnegie Mellon University on 27th July (the day after the ICICLE conference ends). The TLA Plugfest includes an introduction to TLA standards, plug and play sessions, and a TLA discussion. Military and civilian distributed learning leaders who want to learn more about the TLA and industry partners who want to demonstrate TLA-conformant technologies are welcome to participate. Learn more here about event details and participant criteria.

Talking about Learning Engineering
