ICICLE September 2024 Community Call: Dan Jarratt, Chief Technical and Innovation Officer, and Thomas Christie, Director of Learning Engineering, Learning Engineering Virtual Institute
The ICICLE monthly community call is Wednesday, September 18th at 12pm ET. We are excited to have Daniel Jarratt, Chief Technical and Innovation Officer, and Thomas Christie, Director of Learning Engineering of the Learning Engineering Virtual Institute (LEVI) join the call. LEVI aims to create interventions that will double the rate of middle school math progress for low-income students. The Institute collaborates with several teams to develop interventions to tackle this goal. Daniel and Thomas will be speaking about the collaborations, tools and projects at LEVI and how learning engineering shapes the process.
We’ll be meeting via Webex for the community call. (See details below with meeting code and password.) It is scheduled for one hour’s length. Full agenda will be posted here.
Talking about Learning Engineering
Enterprise Learning Engineering (ELE), US Air Force

The ELE CoE will be designed to enhance learning engineering and accelerate learning and retention for students, faculty, and staffs across the DAF.
Tools Competition
The Learning Engineering Tools Competition leverages digital technology, big data, and learning science to meet the needs of learners. This year’s Tools Competition will award prizes ranging from $50k-$300k to teams for innovative technologies serving learners from K-12 through post secondary education and a new prize for teams releasing education-focused datasets. Abstracts are being accepted until October 25th. Check out the winners from the past Tools Competitions.
