Invitation to Learning Engineering Webinar Series

The Invitation to Learning Engineering webinar series provides an overview of learning engineering, shares use cases on the application of learning engineering from the Globalisation, Government and Military, Higher Education, pK-12 and Workforce Special and Market Interest Groups, current research findings, and lessons learned.

The webinar series includes five webinars: Applying Learning Engineering in a Global Context, Advancing Workforce Learning through Learning EngineeringApplying Learning Engineering in Mission-Critical EnvironmentsDiscover the World of Learning Engineering in Post-Secondary Contexts, and Unlock the Learning Engineer in You on the application of learning engineering in a pK-12 context

An Invitation of Learning Engineering held on February 25, 2026 explored how learning engineering is adapted globally in a local context. Hosted by the Globalisation Special Interest Group, Carolina Ali Fojaco, Chief Learning Officer at Project Alianza, provided a deep dive on how they used learning engineering to iterate and scale AnGo, an offline, AI-assisted literacy app to help children in Central America build foundational reading skills.

On October 23rd, 2025, the ICICLE Workforce Market Interest Group (MIG) led a webinar on Advancing Workforce Learning through Learning Engineering. The MIG co-chairs, DJ Jaeger and John Costa, explored how learning engineering supports workforce transformation through data-informed design, system-level thinking, and evidence-based practices that link learning to performance outcomes.

The IEEE ICICLE Government and Military Market Interest Group (MIG) led by MIG co-chairs, Eric Ultes and Jason Virtue held on July 18th, 2025 explored how learning engineering can address learning transfer challenges in mission-critical settings and support evidence-informed training, innovation, and performance through a case study featuring Kevin Owens from the Applied Research Laboratories at the University of Texas, a U.S. Department of Defense University Affiliated Research Center (UARC). Kevin will describes a proposed set of learning readiness measures to augment existing technology and human-factors readiness measures used by military and government acquisition and engineering to integrate learning engineering into those existing processes. s in government and military environments.
